Jamaica 2024
Jamaica
Thank God for blessing me with the finances that allowed me to take a trip to Jamaica with my son, we explored the island and spent many times in the rivers and the ocean, well just enough. The morning started out pretty cold until we landed in Jamaica, where it was thunderstorming , we were disappointed by our rental as we expected it to be bigger could barely hold our suitcases but we trudged on. We bought groceries for the house costing us $13,000. Food places don’t tend to be open on Sundays so you have to plan ahead and be prepared. We stayed at our house in Falmouth. The journey was beautiful scenic roots. Jamaica is an underdeveloped country, still young in its efforts to define itself as one of the greatest destination places on earth. The day we went to go see my father‘s grave on the way back we had a flat tire, not one, but two it was a scariest moment of my life being parked on the side of the highway, In Jamaica not having cell phone service to call. To make matters worse I didn’t have a car charger. Next time I will be more prepared. We went to this place called Salt River, which is also known as the place where they go to baptize adults wanting to be blessed in Christ holy name. I’ve heard that the sins turned the River Black. I’m not sure about that, but it was filled with Marass and algae. I found myself trudging through the algae to enjoy myself at Salt River, this is one of the top tourist destinations in Jamaica. Mineral bath us d to be my spot but it’s been a while since they’ve modified the place. I wish we went to Guts River. They should do better to keep it clean so that it is more enjoyable for everyone. In the meantime, I had Tangie on my mind almost daily. There’s nothing like rolling up in your home country, knowing that this is the best on earth. I met lots of cool people on this trip and expanded my family, the whites. I observed my mom on a vacation honeymoon state she is in love with her partner. It feels good to see her happy. I’ve become obsessed with her death, wondering when it’s going to be. Whether it’ll be sudden or whether I’ll have time to say goodbye I just know that I love my mom so much now that we’re done going through the heartache and pain of our tribulations the love has settled in, deep in my bosom I’m afraid to say heart I might die at how fulfilled I am with my moms love.
We went to Dunns River Falls. My son climbed the falls. I was shocked because he said he wasn’t going up there at first the next thing I know he was high on his way up the falls. We spent the whole day in the ocean. It was so beautiful.
After coming home from what was a crazy experience of having the tire go flat on us twice on the highway, my son and I got into an argument about who should go to bed. We ruled on I’m an adult so I can do what I want to do. And he’s the child so he has to listen to me . He suggested I get off my phone. I suggested he get off his iPad. I have never felt confusion like this in my life my son talking back to me with a logical response. We were both on vacation so I had a really relaxed mentality. We settled on he’ll lose his iPad until 12 PM the following day for sassing me. Just a remind him that I was the adult, about 10:30 AM. He came to me. I am so bored I don’t know what to do with myself. I didn’t realize how attached we are to these little things our cell phones mean the world to us. His is just bigger. There was a piece of the coconut Bow that broke off, when we drank two buss up coconut from my childhood yard and he called it his stick of glory or something along those lines and he charged her one juice to touch his stick of glory. Eventually, it got thrown in the trash. There’s no question in my mind that magical stick has a wonderful story to tell about his time as Prince Darien‘s wand. I watched him navigate the world. I couldn’t believe I had a son. He was so smart and held his own in conversation. I was proud of him. I glowed with excitement the kind you get when you walk into a candy shop. I miss my baby so much in the short time that we are not together I will think of fun ways to connect with him. What I wouldn’t give to be able to buy some watercolors so that we can paint a picture together.
The roads were filled with potholes per usual my only concern was the lack of signage that told us where we were going. Personally, I need constant reminders on the highway that I’m going in the right direction to famous destinations so I don’t feel like I’m being kidnapped by my driver. I didn’t get to see the Prime minister or anything but it would be nice. I recorded short 30 second videos of various parts of my trip. I guess I’m becoming a filmmaker. That was the best trip of my life. I can’t wait to do it again next year.
